Thalassery Fort – The Fort that Shows the History and Aesthetics

Thalassery Fort is one of the oldest forts in Kerala. Some researchers claim that the fort was built by the British East India Company, while others assert that it was constructed by the French before the British arrived. Situated in Thalassery town, Kannur District, this fort offers free entry and parking. The fort’s walls and floors are constructed using red stone, which is abundant in the region. With a total area of 2 acres, the fort provides panoramic views of Thalassery Town on one side and the Arabian Sea on the other.

The fort attracts a diverse crowd, with the majority being couples and students. As someone who appreciates history and aesthetics, you will undoubtedly love Thalassery Fort. During my visit, I enjoyed the experience; however, I did observe an area that requires improvement Which is the cleanliness and hygiene of the bathrooms.
