The Palakkad Fort is Situated in the Heart of Palakkad city. The Fort was originally built by the local Palakkad ruler, the Palakkad Achchan, in 1766. However, it was later rebuilt and fortified by Hyder Ali, the Sultan of Mysore, in the late 18th century. There is a entry Fee of Rs:25/- per head as per the date 28 January 2024. I Visited the fort on 28 January 2024. Its a big and Strong fort . But the inside look and maintenance was disappointing. This fort is under archaeological Survey of India. But there are Some local government offices are working inside the fort. In brief, This fort is worth visiting but the maintenance department and the staffs behavior needs to improve .
