Kadalundi Bird Sanctuary is located on the border of Malappuram district and Calicut district. It lies within the Vallikunnu Grama Panchayat of Malappuram district. Kadalundi Bird Sanctuary is the best place for nature lovers and bird watchers. You can also see two famous bridges from there: the Kadalundi Bridge and the Kadalundi Railway Bridge. The Kadalundi Railway Bridge made national headlines in 2001 due to the Kadalundi train accident, which occurred on the railway bridge inside the bird sanctuary. Fifty-nine people died in the accident
There is an entry fee of Rs. 10/-, and a ticket fee of Rs. 800/- for a boat trip as per March 2024, which accommodates 6-8 passengers. The best time to visit the Kadalundi Bird Sanctuary is early in the morning. You can visit on any day of the year, but the best months to visit are November to January.
